A Foodie Guide
Here at Starlight Cottage we are unashamed foodies - and this is our guide to the best local places to eat, drink and be merry! There are always many tempting treats waiting for you when you arrive - including delicious cakes, the ‘Hut Chocolate Corner’ and plentiful tea, coffee and cooking essentials. Included in the price is the 'Starlight Express' breakfast option, which includes granola, yoghurt, fruit, juice, bread and eggs from our own happy hens! A meaty breakfast upgrade, picnic supplies or a champagne & chocolates treat are possible extras.
Pubs & Restaurants
The Lamb in Buckland: Within walking distance (across fields, so not advised in the dark!) a welcoming country pub restaurant, where they combine the charm of Cotswold stone building with hearty well made food, friendly service and good drinks. Discover more
The Trout at Tadpole Bridge: An idyllic situation right on the River Thames, the pub has lots of charm and an ambitious menu. Discover more
The Cotswold Plough in Clanfield: Any restaurant which serves food this good and has a superbly stocked gin pantry is a yes from us! Highly recommended. Discover more
Mollies: An American diner along the A420. Not an exciting location for a restaurant but the venue’s atmosphere and food makes up for it! Discover more
In Faringdon: Try the Viceroy Tandoori for a fabulous Indian, Harbour Fish and Chips for a tasty take away, or the new ‘Gin to My Tonic’ Bar if you are a cocktail fan.

M&S at BP: The closest place to buy groceries would be the Marks and Spencer shop which is located at the BP petrol station next to Mollies Diner.
Waitrose: A good selection of quality produce just outside Faringdon in a retail park which also has an Aldi and a Costa Drive-Through. Discover more
